Welcome to our weekly blog *Favourite Four Friday*. Every week we will be asking a guest photographer to share with us their four favourite photos… the photos they have taken that they love the most… and share with you the reasons why. We adore the idea of knowing what images connect to and inspire an artist most.
FAVOURITE FOUR FRIDAY WITH ADAM WILLIAMS
We are very excited to be sharing the photographic magic of Adam Williams from Adam Williams Photography for this week’s Favourite Four Friday. Adam is an incredibly talented landscape photographer who is based in Crescent Head, NSW and is currently on the adventure of a lifetime travelling around Australia with his family and running photography workshops everywhere he goes. Adam has been awarded the prestigious AIPP NSW Landscape Photographer of the Year in 2015, 2016 AND 2017 and NSW Professional Photographer of the Year in 2017 (among many other awards). What a talent right? The passion Adam has about conveying emotion is his work is palpable and he says that his imagery is almost biographical in reflecting the highs and lows that he himself has experienced in life through anxiety and depression. As energetic mental health advocates ourselves (see The Yes Project), his words deeply resonate with us and we are so impacted by the sentiment of his work. Take a look at Adam’s favourite four…
ADAM WILLIAMS PHOTOGRAPHY
The 4 images are from a series named “Even in the darkest days”. The series is inspired by my battles with anxiety and depression.
Out in the open, though so closed in.
All alone, whilst surrounded by millions.
Outwardly bright, so obviously blue.
“Even in the Darkest Days”
Shrouded in darkness, desperately grasping to the hope of a single shard of light.
“The Darkest Day”
Produced during one of my darkest depression periods……
Alone, self-reflection, uncertainty, trapped, caged, hidden, worthless, LOVE.
Exiting the Darkness
A flood of golden light, the sight of a rainbow, hoping with all my heart that the storm is finally breaking
