I’ve been to plenty of photography workshops. I made it my mission to make sure that I was investing in my education throughout my entire photography career and booked myself into at least one activity a year that was going to help me grow – be it posing, camera skills, lighting, business or something totally random and new like fine art portraiture. I can tell you now, that no workshop has ever been the same. Some were AMAZING, LIFE CHANGING, JUST WOW and all that. Others … hmmm … not so much. So just what can you expect to get from a 2 day, newborn and portrait photography workshop?

We spoke with Connie Lawson from Connie’s Magic Moments who told us EXACTLY what she covers in her extensive 2 day workshops. Connie is running some amazing events across the country this year in Sydney (BE QUICK! Early-bird prices for her July 27th / 28th event run out next week) and mid October for Brisbane / Gold Coast photographers.

Some Words from Past Students

I was very happy! You teach from start to finish on how to run a session. This was my second time attending Connie’s “Create Love Inspire” photography workshop, and both times I’ve walked away with new knowledge and ideas to work with. I really gained a lot of knowledge this time about newborn work flow and lighting, which has helped incorporate lighting into our current workflow. I thought I wouldn’t get much out of the on location shoots, but I actually learned a lot more! I love the way Connie teaches you how to find light in any location to make the most out of your sessions. Love Mallie x

The workshop was awesome as was Connie. The workshop covered everything and more than I hoped for. Being fairly new to photography I have come away with so much knowledge. The workshop was perfect timing for me as I had lost my confidence in my photography and was feeling frustrated as I wasn’t improving . At the Workshop everything just seemed to click and since then I am producing my best work so far. My confidence has grown and I organised a family shoot and my first Newborn shoot within 2 weeks of completing the Workshop. I am now inspired to fulfil my passion in photography and work towards being paid to do something I love doing. The content of the workshop covered all my photography interests. I have watched many you-tube videos however it doesn’t even compare to actually being there and watching the whole process especially handling of the Newborns as well as interacting with families and especially the kids. I have Photoshop and have been very intimidated by it up until the Workshop. Watching Connie use Photoshop I have since been dabbling in it and have been using some of the tools. I now know that I have to work on my editing skills to produce even more beautiful work. Previously I had looked into participating in a Newborn Workshop and it was more than what I paid for the “Create Love Inspire ” Workshop and so I thought it was extremely good value for money. Connie’s Magic Moments I just want to say a big ‘thank you’ in providing me with such an awesome workshop. Connie has so much knowledge and skills and she was happy to share this with me. It’s rare to find someone with Connie’s talents that also has the ability to communicate effectively and provide an atmosphere that is inspiring to learn within. I have learnt a lot of things to take my photography skills to the next level and now have the confidence to believe in myself and to follow my passion. I can’t thank you enough. x Toni

Connie is a great talent! She has soooo many tips and tricks that are useful in any photoshoot and in any part of your business. She is an open book when it comes to questions and gives you honest advice and great insight into her personal photography journey which is so valuable to all photographers whether it be those just starting out or people who have been in business for a long time! I would highly recommend her! Mel x

I attended the ‘Create Love Inspire’ workshop. Connie was warm, welcoming and an open book from the get go. We covered each of the subjects in detail and her hands on teaching techniques had me come away from the workshop with new knowledge, confidence and the ability to refine my work to a higher standard.
